THE RED DEER ROYALS 2001-2002 SEASON

The 2001-2002 season was great! Some of the accomplishments that stood out for us were:

• receiving the Red Deer Mayor's Recognition Award based on the previous year

• a Superior Band rating at Kiwanis Festival and ABA Festivals

• a very professional performance of our senior Royals members and the Red Deer Symphony

• providing an emotional and meaningful close to the Keith Mann Tribute concert Jan..25

• hosting another successful Festival of Champions May 5, 2002

• a repeat of our terrific band and colorguard performance in the Calgary Stampede Parade

• our highest mark ever at the Stampede Fanfare ShowBand competition in the Saddledome (88.9)

• top marching band and top overall musical entry in the Klondike Days Parade

• second highest band with a mark of 86.1 at the Klondike Days Marching Band Invitational- not our best performance , but pretty darned impressive never-the-less

• top Drum Majors in the K-Days Parade and field show performance

• a total of 42 performances around the province with no rain!

• received parade appearance fees totalling more than $5000

• earned prize money at Stampede and K-Days totalling $4250

• using our "music in motion" to thrill audiences totalling over a million people that year
