THE RED DEER ROYALS 2006-2007 SEASON

The 2006-2007 season was a busy one for the Red Deer Royals.

Highlights of the year included:

• Our Director Mr. Rob Goring spent the second half of the year overseas. Mr. Michael Mann, our percussion instructor, was our Interim Director and did a great job of it!

• Honoring the Veterans at the Lest We Forget Musical Remembrance as well as at the Red Deer Remembrance Day Ceremony

• Christmas performances at the Santa Claus parade, lighting of Red Deer's largest Christmas tree, playing at the Festival of Trees and at the Kiwanis Carol Festival

• Receiving a Superior Band Award at Red Deer's Kiwanis Festival

• Marching in many parades throughout Alberta. We played in Rimbey twice and in Alix for the first time in recent memory.

• Our mini tour which included Calgary Stampede, then traveling to Saskatoon for the MACBDA competition, then back to Calgary for pancake breakfasts, Fanfare and the MACBDA Finals

• An outstanding performance in the Capital Ex Parade winning us the award as the Top Overall Musical Entry in the parade

• Our Colour Guard put on some great performances of their winter show in Calgary and Red Deer

• Both the overall band and the Colour Guard being in the top three in the Calgary Stampede Parade
